World Book Day 2023
FAI Primary School 5s- Girls
The girls from 5th and 6th class competed in the FAI Primary School 5s competition last Wednesday 8th of March. The girls set off to the MDL on Wednesday morning for a fantastic day of soccer.
Kildalkey A, which comprised of girls from 6th class played 3 matches in their group. First up they played Gaelscoil na Mí, beating them 4-1. Next up, they had a tough game against the girls from Ashbourne Educate Together, with the final score there being 2-2. Finally, they put up a great performance in their last match, but disappointingly lost to the girls from O'Growney's NS in Athboy. Overall, they finished 2nd in their group and they thoroughly enjoyed their day out!
In Kildalkey B, we had the girls from 5th class, and they played 4 matches. Their first match was against Ashbourne Educate Together, winning 6-1. Then they were up against Gaelscoil na Mí, but were defeated 3-2. Their 3rd game was against Athboy, where they won 1-0 but ultimately they too ended up coming 2nd in their group with a loss against Ard Rí in their final game. The girls put in a tremendous effort, and had a very enjoyable day out!

A big thank you to the Parents Association!
6th class would like to thank Michelle and the Parents Association for the beautiful buns they received today, in celebration of their Confirmation tomorrow! It was such a treat, and a lovely surprise to get this morning! Go raibh míle, míle maith agaibh!
Peadar Lehane Football Final
Well done to the the boys' footballers from 3rd and 4th class who won the Peadar Lehane Cup on Friday 24th February.
They beat Dangan in a very tight game in Boardsmill GAA pitch.
Trailing for most of the game, goals from Ciliian and Seán in the first half left them trailing by a point at half time.
Three points down with only a matter of minutes left, a goal from Cillian and a late free from Daithí saw them pip Dangan in what was a game of very high quality.
Afterwards, the two captains, Ciliian and Jack accepted the trophy on behalf of the team and made two excellent speeches.
Well done to all the boys and their trainer, Mr. Muldoon!
