Physical Activity in Kildalkey

3rd to 6th class took part in hurling training this school year and made the final this year. Unfortunately, we lost by four points in a great game.

3rd to 6th class took part in camogie training this year and the girls won the camogie final by a goal!

Gaelic Football:

Our Mini 7s football team reached the final this year, for the first time ever! We had members from fifth and sixth class playing on the team and Ben was picked to play in Croke Park afterwards!

Football Training:

Classes from Junior Infants to Third class have been training with Dylan from January to May every Wednesday. They have been practising the various skills with Dylan and are making great improvements!

Indoor Hurling Training:

Meath Coaching was out to the second, third and fourth classes before Christmas, practisiing indoor hurling with them. They made great strides and really improved their skillset! 




One of our parents, Janet, came in and did athletics training with the classes before Christmas on Fridays. The children learned about relays, discus, circuit training etc. Thanks to Janet for coming in. The children learned lots and really enjoyed their Athletics training!


Athletics Ireland have been visiting the school and doing workshops with first and second classes every Monday in February and March. They have had great fun with the different activities provided. Thanks again to Athletics Ireland for providing the coaching.

A dance teacher has been coming in to practice dances with third to sixth class. The classes had great fun practising and performing their dances, which they then performed for parents and classes alike. The sixth class hope to perform their dance for the Graduation Ceremony.

Classes from 1st to 6th have been enjoying use of our gym mats to enjoy Gymnastics lessons. We have quite a few potential Olympians on our hands!
