Tree Planting in the New School!

As Meath thawed and students at St.  Dympna’s NS Kildalkey returned from snow days, a special treat was in store to celebrate Tree Week.  Students from Mr. Conneely’s third class got a sneak preview of the new school building due for completion this summer after many years of community fundraising effort to help fund the build.  The students, helped by Dale Treadwell representing Crann ‘Trees for Ireland’ and Kevin McCabe from Enrich Environmental Ltd,  planted the first tree of many on site to follow the Crann theme of ‘You are at home among Trees’  In months to come students will be involved in treescapeing and a creating a school garden to match the national pollinator project plan.  Facilitated by Mr. Treadwell as they move into their new environs, to also include biodiversity and wildlife.

The Dream of Mr.  Fox  is for today’s students to plant a magical forest wonderland and outdoor classroom for future generations of students to come.
