St. Nicholas's Day
St. Nicholas's Day
Today we celebrated St. Nicholas's Day. This is traditionally celebrated in German speaking countries. Children put out their shoes and wait for treats from St. Nicholas. Iven's Mam sent in lovely treat bags for the children with traditional clementines, chocolate and candy canes. A massive thank you to Sabrina and Iven for helping us learn all about hsi lovely tradition.
Garda Visit
Garda Visit
We are learning about Occupations and people who help us. Today we received a visit from a Garda. The chidlren asked him a lot of questions and got to see all of the equipment he uses in his everyday duties. The children had a great time arresting each other for crimes like 'skipping the line' or 'robbing a bank'. We also got to experiment with the fingerprint kit.
Anti-Bullying Week
Anti-Bullying Week
The children really enjoyed anti-bullying week this week, they learned what bullying was and what to do if it happens to them or they see it happening to others. They really enjoyed creating our Anti-Bullying posters for our classroom display.
Build a Tower STEM Challenge
Build a Tower STEM Challenge
The chidlren completed a STEM Challenge to build a tower using pegs and lollipop sticks.
They first created a plan and tried to build the tower using their drawing. We measured the towers at the end and the Bord Buí had the highest tower!
Halloween Fun

We had a great week this week learning all about the traditions and origins of Halloween.
We had a Halloween hunt around the school to finish off a great week.
