April - Music with Lorcan

Third class are very lucky to be taking part in a music project run by Mullingar Arts Centre for the next few weeks. Lorcan from Mullingar Arts Centre is coming into third class every Friday until May and will be teaching the boys and girls about some of the instruments in an Army Band and how to play them. They are thoroughly enjoying the experience and at the end of Lorcan's visits in May the class will be visiting Mullingar Arts Centre for a concert with Lorcan and the Army Band. A big thank you to Lorcan and the Mullingar Arts Centre for this great experience.

March - Everything Irish Projects

Well done to all of the boys and girls in third class who worked very hard on their fantastic 'Everything Irish' projects which they presented on our school's Green Day. They produced brilliant projects on a wide range of Irish places and landmarks, from the Giant's Causeway to Fore Abbey and the GPO. Well done again to third class and all of their hard work.

March - Engineers Week

Third class recently participated in Engineers’ week. As part of Engineers’ Week, Joanne and John came in from Intel to show the children what work is done in Intel and to give them a challenge which entailed building a durable and working bridge. The children set into their task and had great fun in designing their bridges!

Eventually it was decided that the boys’ group had built the best bridge! Well done to the boys and thanks to the two Intel volunteers, Joanne and John, for coming in!
