Aoife's drawing came in second place, while Sarah won the big prize!

Well done to both girls!

Hard Luck to the Boys' Team

Hard luck to the boys' soccer teams who participated in the MDL recently.

The first team played three games. A superb win over Ard Rí was sandwiched by two narrow defeats to Coole and Gaelscoil na Bóinne. The boys can feel very satisfied with their performances against tough opposition.

The second team, captained by Oisín, lost their first game but recovered well to go two nil up in the second game. They were pegged back unfortunately and a late goal meant the spoils went to Carnaross. The last match was a very entertaining encounter. Gaelscoil na Ríthe went 1-0 up but a goal from James was enough to share the spoils and end the day on a high.

Well done to both teams, both on their performances and their behaviour.

The sixth class have been busy working with Lego lately.

But not just any Lego! They have been working with Lego We Do which is a coding programme.

Their first day with the kits saw them design various Lego kits and present them to the class, utlising different sensors such as motion sensors and tilt sensors.

Their last instruction was to design a racecar to enter into a race! The car had to start when it sensed the blockade in front of it being removed and then stop if it sensed any obstacle in its path. This involved first designing the racecars, then coding it!

Look at the fun we had!
