Sixth Class

Fourth Class Quiz Teams

Well done to the fourth class quiz teams who took part in Kildalkey's School quiz on the 2nd of February.

In what was a very tight encounter, we had two joint thirds and two joint seconds.

After a tie breaker, it was decided that the team of Meadhbh, Lucy, Jamie and Mark had come in second place.

The winning team though was made up of three boys - Austin, Conor and Luke.

Well done to all who participated!

Intel Supply Chain 2017

On Wednesday 18th January, 4th class were treated to a workshop from six of Intel's finest!

intelsupplychain1

They came to teach the class about Supply Chains!

intelsupplychain2

Supply Chains consists of 4 key steps - Design, Make, Use, Reuse/Recycle.

To illustrate these steps, the students first designed their prototype car using Lego.

This car was then made by all the class, involving the processes of supplying, making and then reviewing. If the car wasn't made to spec, our two ultra stringent testers would refuse to accept it!

The class really enjoyed the experience. Eventually, one team made 33 cars - with ten rejected! And the winning team made 37 - with no rejections!

To top it all off, they each got a pen and a sticker! Thanks to all the Intel volunteers who came out to the school for the day and especially Joanne for co-ordinating the day!
