Sixth Class

All Ireland Final Art

In preparation for the All Ireland football final on Sunday, the sixth class prepared some art, using stencils to paint the GAA crest on a backdrop of the counties' colours on Sunday.

Most surprisingly, most of the students opted to paint their flags green and and red.

Don't they look great!!

Fourth Class Movie

Fourth Class have been doing lots of drama lately and created their own movie trailer! Take a look!

School Tour!

The fourth class really enjoyed their tour on June 7th.

First off, they attended Roddy Doyle's Writers' Workshop. Here they learned about creating characters and developing them for the purposes of a story. Then they wrote their own stories!

After a quick stop off at McDonalds, they attended the Rediscovery Centre in Ballymun where they did some work on Engineers. They learned to build a K'nex tower that could hold an elephant and a tiger, a structure out of cocktail sticks and marshmallows that could withstand an earthquake and they also built circuits using electricity.

Finally, they made it to the National Aquatic Centre where they splashed around and braved the slides for hours. Great fun was had throughout the day!

Sports Day 2017

Sports Day was had on May 26th in Kildalkey N.S.

On what was a fantastic day weather wise, the students had a great day with bouncing castles, parachutes, obstacle courses etc. They even got an ice cream from the ice-cream van, arranged by the Parents' Association. Thanks to them - they were badly needed on what was a very hot day!

Mr. Conneely even built planks with ropes for the senior classes to try. Great fun was had in those races, along with sack races, three legged races among others. The junior classes had face painting, musical chairs and a mini obstacle course.

Thanks to all those who helped on the day, including teachers, parents and volunteers.

Girls' 4th Class Match v Gaelscoil na Bóinne

Well done to the girls of fourth class who took on Gaelscoil na Bóinne in a football challenge match last Thursday.

The girls have trained very hard in the last few weeks and have made great improvements since their last game against Kentstown.

Gaelscoil got out of the block a bit quicker than Kildalkey and got some lovely scores. However, Kildalkey fought their way back into with great goals coming from Ava and Grace, along with a terrific point from Grace.

In the second half, the Gaelscoil stretched their lead, aiding by a big wind. However, Kildalkey never gave up and got some great scores at the end from Amy and Ellen. The final score was Kildalkey 4-2, Gaelscoil na Bóinne 7-5.

Well done to both teams on a great game of football!
