Sixth Class

Room Projects

The sixth class recently created their 'Perfect Bedrooms'.

Creating bedrooms out of a postbox, different materials and fabrics, they created some gorgeous rooms that looked practical and aesthetically pleasing.

They also created videos using Adobe Spark showing how they created the different projects.

They took great pride in showing them to the different classes - well done to the sixth!

Mondrian Art

The sixth class recently looked at the artist Piet Mondrian.

They observed his paintings and his use of straight lines and primary colours before creating their own works.

Didn't they come out well!

Well done to all the sixth on such terrific works of art!

The Champions Cup Visits Kildalkey

Kildalkey N.S. recently  a visitor to the school - the European Rugby Champions Cup!

On the back of Leinster's triumph last year whey won the Champions Cup and the Pro 14 Cup, both trophies were brought into the school, courtesy of Athboy rugby club.

All classes had photos taken with the cups, which Leinster hope to see back again in the coming year!

Many thanks to Shane for bringing the trophies in.

Mini Scientist Success

To get to an All Ireland final is superb. To get to two is simply outstanding. Yet that's what Anna, Ellen, Meadhbh and Shannon have done.

They qualified again for the All Ireland final to be held in January and February. Their project 'Does THE Spatter Matter?' was one of only 16 to make it through to the All Ireland. Considering there was nearly 100 on display, that is some achievement!

The girls now look forward to the All Ireland finals, where we are sure they will represent the school brilliantly - again!

Well done to their girls and their parents on seeing all their hard work pay off! Roll on the All Ireland!

Even Bishop Smith was impressed to hear about their exploits!
