Sixth Class

All Ireland Final Excitement

The pupils in School Two have been showing their colours ahead of the All Ireland final on September 18th.

In particular, fourth class have been singing songs all week in preparation for the big day and wore in their colours on Friday, 16th September.

Even the notice board was decorated!!

Funnily enough, most of the students wore in the green and red of Mayo! We're not sure quite why this was but hopefully, it is a good sign for the upcoming match on Sunday 18th September!

Fourth Class Dancers

The fourth class have been busy this month attending dance classes with Sarah, an external dance teacher!

They have practising dances to the song 'Sax'.

They are really enjoying the lessons and we hope to see some of them grace the dancefloor in the not too distant future!!

Reaching for the Stars!!

The fourth class began September by creating a wonderful display that can be seen in School Two.

They placed their hands down on sheets of paper and traced them.

They then put their goals for the year onto the hand and decorated them!

The results can be seen below!!!

Snake Art!!

The fourth have been doing some great art work recently.

Using brown paint to create the background, the class then use a paintbrush to paint the body of the snake. They then used cotton buds to decorate the snakes.

Don't they look great!! Even Winston in the corner approves!

4th Class Tour

The fourth recently had a great day on their school tour.

First off was the National Archaeological Museum. The class had a guided tour of the Bog Bodies, which was fascinating. After the guided tour, they did a treasure hunt of the Museum and got to see some of Ireland's great treasures, like the Ardagh Chalice and the Tara Brooch.

Afterwards, the fourth class took a walk to the Oliver Wilde Playground in Merrion Square. They had great fun trying out the different rides!

Next up was the GPO Witness Tour. The class got to learn all about the 1916 Rising in Sackville Street. They looked at artefacts from 1916, learned about the daily events of the week of the 1916 Rising, and saw a terrific film of the events of the week.

Finally, the class visited the National Aquatic Centre, where they had two fun filled hours!

A great day!
