Mini 7s Football Finalists

Well done to the Mini 7s football team who made the final today in Dunganny.

Having qualified last week from a group that included Ballivor, Cortown and Rath Cairn, Kildalkey took off from where they started last week with a well worked win against Rathfeigh. They then played Bohermeen where some superb football took them past Bohermeen in a tough encounter.

Then, it was Slane in the semi final. At half time, Kildalkey lead by 1-4 to 1-1. However, two quickfire goals for Slane in the second half put them up by two points. It was then the mettle of Kildalkey was to be seen, as the ball was worked down for Jamie to grab the leading goal. When Ben landed a point soon after, Kildalkey were heading for their first ever Mini 7s final!

Kells were next up for Kildalkey and, in truth, were more than a match for them. With superb performances all over the field, they were deserving winners as, try as they might, Kildalkey simply couldn't live with them.

However, Kildalkey can be very happy with their performance over the two days. Reaching a Mini 7s football final is no small feat, as it's the first time a school team from Kildalkey has ever made that far in the football end of things! Well done to Kildalkey on a great day's work!

3rd and 4th Camogie Win

Well done to the girls from Third and Fourth Class who secured a great win over Gaelscoil na Bóinne.

In what was a very exciting match between both teams, Kildalkey got the upperhand in the first half and got some great goals to be leading at half time.

The second half was tighter but goals from Lily and Shauna amongst others meant that the win belonged to Kildalkey.

Well done to both teams on a great game and well done to the girls in 3rd and 4th.

Some of the scores they got in the second half were of a superb quality.
