Girls' Soccer

Well done to the two girls' soccer teams who competed in the MDL soccer tournament.

The two teams, captained by Sarah and Jacinta, competed very well winning and drawing several matches.

On what was an absolutely horrible day for soccer, the two teams enjoyed themselves and acquitted themselves very well!

Thanks to all the parents who braved the elements and Miss O'Sullivan who did such a great job of managing both teams!

Boys' Semi Final

The boys' football semi final will take place on Wednesday, 22nd October, in Kilmessan GAA pitch.

The match will begin at 2.00 against Kilbride N.S. (Clonee).

The boys are looking to reach their first ever Division Two final.

We hope to see a big crowd there supporting them! The very best of luck to the boys!

Hard Luck to the Boys

Hard luck to the boys' football team who lost their semi final today, Wednesday 22nd October.

Playing Kilbride in Kilmessan GAA, the boys got off to a great start with a goal from Robbie in the opening few minutes. When Ryan added another free, it was looking good for Kildalkey. A sustained period of pressure for Kilbride yielded five points for them and Kildalkey's only response was a point from Ryan. Just before the break a monster free from Lee saw Kildalkey go into the lead again and when Jake's shot right before the half time whistle arrowed its way into the back of the net, Kildalkey were four points to the good.

The second half saw a rise in the wind and a rise in Kilbride's play. A fortuitous goal levelled the play and from there on, Kilbride seemed to be able to get their scores the easier. Some beautiful points pushed them into a three point lead. Kildalkey refused to die, and following some sustained pressure, found themselves level after a stunning goal from Jake, truly worthy of winning any match. However, Kilbride just had that bit more in the tank and further scores from them left the final score 1-12 to 3-3.

Kildalkey can be very proud of their performance. They battled right up until the final whistle and even when everything was going against them in the second half, they fought constantly and were almost rewarded. They contributed richly to what was a great game of football and can hold their heads high. Beidh lá eile ag an bPaorach!

Girls Record Great Win

Well done to the Kildalkey girls' football team who recorded a great win over Oldcastle in today's game in Kildalkey.

Whilst some showers threatened to put a dampener on proceedings, the Kildalkey girls' performance ensured that was never going to be the case.

With some sterling performances in defence, added to two hard working shows in the middle of the field from Lydia and Holly, the girls were never to relinquish the lead that their forwards gave them.

Overall, it was a good finish to what was a tough campaign for the Kildalkey girls. Well done to them on their win today!
