On Monday 22nd of June, we had two finals.

Our cup final was a very tight affair. At half time, Arsén's team were winning by two points, 1-0 to 0-1. When Arsén got another goal after half time, it was looking good for them. However, Kelvin's team upped their game, winning by 3-2 to 2-0 in the end.

Peadar Ó Liatháin Final Winners
Comhghairdeas to our 3rd and 4th Class boys who defeated Dangan in a thrilling final on Thursday. They had a tough road to the final beating Ballivor and Boardsmill. A great achievement for the boys and their captains Dáithí and Oran.

Camogie Champions
Well done to the girls' camogie team who won a brilliant Division Two final against an excellent Boardsmill side.
The girls started well with an early goal from Holly settling nerves but a strong opening half from Boardsmill saw them head into half time ahead 1-0 to 2-1.
It was then we saw Kildalkey's character shine through. Up against a stiff breeze, the girls battled hard and points from Maria and Erin along with a goal from Anna meant the two teams were level going into injury time.
A brilliant score from the Boardsmill midfielder meant it looked like the cup was heading to Boardsmill. However, the Kildalkey girls worked the ball up the field and when the chance fell to Emma, she took it to bring the title back to Kildalkey!
Superb performances from defence in Juliet, Meabh, Callie and Kate in particular set the foundation for the win. Erin and Éabha-Marie ran themselves into the ground with two tireless displays. Up front, super scores from Holly, Anna, Maria and Emma along with hard working displays from Carys, Esmé and Elsie set the tone for the stirring second half from the girls.
However, pride of place goes to the goalkeeper Aoife, who pulled off save after save, along with some superb puck outs saw her keep Kildalkey in the game and eventually win the Spirit of the Final!!

Afterwards, the two joint captains Erin and Éabha-Marie accepted the cup on behalf of the team and delivered two stirring speeches. Then it was back to the school where the Parents' Association put on a brilliant spread for the victorious team and their parents.
Well done to all the girls and in particular their two coaches, Miss McGowan and Miss Massey. It was a final and finale that will live long in the memory!
Girls Lose Out in Tight Encounter
The girls' football team lost out narrowly in their opening match to a spirited Ballivor team.
Conceding an early goal did nothing to deter the girls and some spirited defending and tackling lead to a turnover which resulted in a superb goal for Holly. Indeed, the girls were unlucky not to score more in this period, as a superb shot from Hannah had the Ballivor goalkeeper beaten all ends up only for the ball to rebound back off the post.
At half time, the scoreline read 1-2 apiece.
Entering the second half, another goal from Holly put the girls in the driving seat. Unfortunately, this preceded a period of dominance from the Ballivor goals that led to them scoring 3-2 without reply. In the end, Ballivor came away with the points but Kildalkey can take a lot of heart from their performance. All 16 players participated in the game and they can be pleased with their efforts. Laura played extremely well in goals and had some great defenders in front of her in the shape of Molly, Clodagh, Jacinta, Zoe, Emma and Hannah. The midfielders were excellent throughout with Lydia making some great catches and scoring some fine point while Holly D. was up and down the pitch constantly. Holly R. got some great scores during the match and was ably supported by Chloe, Kate, Sarah, Caitlin, Tyana and Orlagh.
Well done to the girls and we look forward to the match next week!
