Parents’ Association


Parents’ Association:
Kildalkey N.S. has an active Parents’ Association which welcomes all parents to become involved in its activities throughout the school year. The Parents' Association is the structure through which parents in the school can work together for the best possible education for their children. The Parents’ Association works with the Principal, Staff and Board of Management to build effective partnership between the home and school. New parents are particularly welcome and it is a great opportunity to meet the parents of other children in the school.
The current Parents’ Association committee is comprised of the following members:

Kildalkey N.S. Parents’ Association has an A.G.M. in September
or October where a committee is elected. The committee provides support to the
school in the following areas:
·        
Preparation and serving of refreshments at Confirmation and Holy Communion
·     Christmas activities for the children
·     Sports Day
·     Production of personalised Christmas cards/Calendars/Homework Journals
      Sponsored painting of backdrop for Christmas Plays/flowerboxes
      Santa visit to Junior and Senior Infants with all pupils receiving wrapped selection boxes
      Sponsored Tin Whistles for Second Class pupils
      Easter Raffle with proceeds going to the school for IT equipment
      Receptions for Communion Classes and Graduation Class
      Co-sponsored 'Class of  .....' Hoodies for Sixth Class Students
A    Parents' Association  Information pamphlet which was included in the  school information pack for the incoming Junior Infant parents
A    book drive was held in the school hall where families dropped off second  hand unwanted books in an effort to replenish classroom libraries
A    Sponsored meal for schools' hurling and camogie teams on their achievement in reaching the hurling and camogie finals.
