Cumann na mBunscol Finals 2019
Well done to the boys and girls who qualified for the Cumann na mBunscol finals last Saturday, 15th June.
The girls had beaten Boardsmill well and were playing in their second consecutive final. Goals from Anna (2) in the first half meant that they went in only 2 down after playing against a very stiff breeze. When Ellen goaled and Amy struck over a glorious point, hopes were high that the double could be completed. However, Boyerstown finished the stronger and late goal meant they were the victors, 6-3 to 3-2.

Hard luck to the girls who had a great year. They can feel very proud of their performance on the day and indeed, throughout the year.
The boys went into their final having lost to Trim twice during the year. A great start with a goal and a point from James put them into the ascendancy early on. A further free from James and a monster point from Conor B meant Kildalkey went into the lead 1-3 to 0-2 at half time.
The second half was a battle with Kildalkey trying desperately to hold out. Incredible defensive work meant they held fast. However, a goal from a free (rebound) meant with ten minutes left, there was only one point in it, 1-4 to 1-3. However, the boys showed what they were made of and held fast. When James broke free to fire over a point with a minute remaining, the boys had their title!

Well done to the boys on a tremendous victory. Afterwards, James and Jamie accepted the cup and then it was back to the school where the Parents' Association put on food for both teams. Well done all!

Mini 7s Hurling Champions
Congratulations to the boys from 5th and 6th who won this year's Mini 7s Hurling finals.

Captained by Aaron and Conor, the boys did superbly throughout. After a tight encounter with St. Paul's which ended in a draw, the boys warmed to the task recording resounding wins over Dunboyne and Kilmessan to secure the title, albeit on scoring difference.

Afterwards, Aaron and Conor collected the medals and plaque!
Well done also to James C who was selected play at half time in Croke Park this summer!
Musical
We are looking forward to the musical, The Jungle Book, which will take place in Mullingar Arts Centre on Tuesday, January 21st this year at 7.00p.m.
3rd class and 5th class have been preparing extremely diligently in preparation for the show!

Best of luck to the students and all the teachers involved!
Santa's Visit
The school had a special visitor today - Santa!

He came out to visit us in the school and had a little present for every single student in the school!

Students from Junior Infants up to 2nd class got to call in and have a little chat with him and he called around to say hello to all the senior classes!
Santa was in great form and was delighted to say that all of the students in Kildalkey N.S. are on the nice list and will be getting presents this year. He wasn't sure about some of the teachers mind.

Thanks to the Parents' Association for all their hard work in organising this visit!
