The Choir's big day out!

The students of Kildalkey NS reached a major milestone in their singing careers, as the school choir participated in the 'Big Sing' concert on Wednesday 29th March. This was a major accomplishment for the choir in their first year! The students have spent countless hours, even giving up their time after school, practicing and learning a huge number of songs- some English, some Irish, some Ukranian and even one in ISL!

Our day began with having a feast in school before we left! All great superstars absolutely MUST have full bellies before they hit the stage, and what better way to do that by indulging in a delicious Rossi's takeaway! The Parents Association very kindly organised for all of the students in the choir to have a hot meal before they embarked on a long evening ahead. As you can imagine, the students were over the moon and so very appreciative of this kind gesture.

And with that, they were off on the bus to Dublin to the National Stadium. There was great excitement on the bus and the students were singing before we even exited the gates! As soon as we got there, they were ever the professionals, and got straight to rehearsals before enjoying some down time before the big show!
The show began shortly after 7.30pm and the choir sang their hearts out! From Latin medleys, to rock and roll songs like 'Don't Stop Believing', the students sang until the bitter end and even received a standing ovation from the audience!! Very impressive!
Well done and congratulations on your remarkable performance! Everyone in the Kildalkey NS community are incredibly proud of you all!
