Presentation of Flag and Proclamation
The 8th of December saw the Irish flag and the Proclamation of the Declaration of Independence delivered to the school from the Irish Army.
The fourth and fifth class formed a guard of honour at ten o'clock for Sergeant Lucchesi and his colleague that arrived from the Infantry Battalion in Dundalk.
They spoke to the large gathering of students, teachers and parents who had gathered in the parish hall about the historic significance of the flag and the Proclamation.
They then presented the flag and the Proclamation to a cohort of students from the Infant classes.
The classes then performed Amhrán na bhFiann before Fr. Murtagh spoke to the school about the Pearses and their influence on Kildalkey.
All in all, it was a wonderful occasion. Many thanks to all those who prepared for the presentation and who decorated the hall.
Christmas Fair Success
The Christmas Fair took place last Sunday, 6th December and was a huge success.
We had many tables with some fantastic products for sale.
The crowd started coming in at 12.30 and the flow of people through the doors never stopped.
Well done to all those who contributed to the day and those who sold or purchased items on the day.
All funds raised will go to the school.
New School Announced
The Minister of Education today announced that the new school for Kildalkey will commence building in 2016.
After years of lobbying for it to be built, construction on the new school will officially begin some time in 2016.
Well done to all who worked so hard to get us into this position!

Christmas Fair
Kildalkey N.S. will host a Christmas Fair this year on December 6th.
The Fair will be run in the Parish Hall from 12.30 to 3.00.

Table Quiz
The Parents' Association are delighted to announce a Mega Quiz night in the Snug House on November 20th.
The quiz will begin at 8.30 p.m.
It is the Christmas fundraiser for the school this year.
There will be cash prizes for the winning teams with turkey and ham vouchers to be won on the night!
