Sports Day 2016

Kildalkey N.S.'s Sports Day will take place this year on Friday, 27th May.

The children will enjoy many activities such as Archery, Obstacle Courses, Bouncing Castles, Teddy Bear's Picnic etc.

Please be mindful of the fact that the children may be outside for most of the day so they may need sun protection if it is a sunny day.

They will also need lots of water and plenty of good food to help keep them active.

Here's hoping for no rain and an enjoyable Sports Day!

Communion Celebrations

The second class' First Holy Communion passed off very successfully last Saturday, 7th May.

Communion

In what was a beautiful ceremony, all the students looked great in their outfits and performed all tasks wonderfully well. We had some excellent readers and at the end of the mass, we were treated to super rendition of 'Céad Míle Fáilte Romhat, a Íosa'.

Well done to all the students who performed so well on the day!

Well done also to the choir under the direction of Miss O'Sullivan who really enhanced the ceremony with their beautiful singing. Mr. Fox also treated us to a gorgeous saxophone solo during the mass. Thanks also to Fr. Mark who ran the mass so well.

Finally, well done to Mrs. Treadwell who had the class so well prepared!

Today, 15th March, Kildalkey NS read out its very own Proclamation.

Inspired by the 100 year anniversary of the 1916 Rising, the sixth classes wrote their own Proclamation, which can be read below.

The school gathered this morning to hear it being read.

Well done to all the sixth class and their teachers on their great work.

New School Building Update

As you may know, the new school building for Kildalkey N.S. was approved in the last budget.

The Department has been finalising some last minute details and are in the process of beginning the building of the new school, which should hopefully begin this year.

The new school will be located down the road from the current location of School Two (towards Athboy).

Here are some artist's representations of what the new school will look like.
